Shirley Scott, Jimmy Smith, bien sûr, et Lou Bennett), devient rapidement une icône de son instrument et se produit avec les plus grands: Ray Charles, George Benson, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald... Comme elle jouait la partie de basse non avec la main droite mais avec les pieds déchaussés, elle est surnommée «l'organiste aux pieds nus». À neimënster, la grande dame du jazz nous présente, en quartet exclusivement féminin, We Free Queens, son dernier opus (Sunnyside Records). En: 'The organ is very warm. Rhoda Scott The American organist Rhoda Scott, famous for her virtuos playing of the Hammond organ since the seventies (cf. Shirley Scott, Jimmy Smith, of course, and Lou Bennett), has over the past decades become an organ icon playing with the biggest names in the business: Ray Charles, George Benson, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald... To this day she doesn't play the bass with her left hand but her bare feet, which got her the nickname The Barefoot Lady. At neimënster, the grande dame of jazz presents, together with her exclusively female quartet, We Free Queens, her latest opus (Sunnyside Records).
