The two meet on stage with a common ground for exploration: space as a place in which to exercise and transfigure the physical and sonic body. Dan Kinzelman performs a suite of improvised music - using his voice, synthesizers and feedbackloops - while Daniele Ninarello in the choreographic part not only explores his familiar field of instant composition, but processes the constant dialogue with the soundscape and the information he receives from it. The WOMANhouse is an eye-catching quartet in which four athletic performers explore gender-based stereotypes by acting like typical blokes - with beards and all -, stirring up fights and frenzy, while questioning their masculinities. What is it to be man? Is this the same as being masculine? Does your body define your gender? Where does the masculine begin and the feminine end? With these questions in mind the lines between constructed gender and their own bodies are explored. Tender, aggressive, sexy, blurry - this show crosses all the lines. ´Elvedon´, choreographed by Christos Papadopoulos, is inspired by Virginia Woolf's novel The Waves which tells the story of six friends from childhood to old age. Six personalities and perceptions of reality, intertwined in an ever-flowing world, like ocean waves. The main element in both the book and this project, is the passing of time as a powerful force of evolution, resulting in a world of constant change, where opposite forces collide and cooperate. The concept of eternal flow is the heart of Elvedon, portrayed with the means of repetition, bouncing, and gradual development of the corporal movement. Sur scène, ils explorent l'espace comme un lieu dans lequel exercer et transfigurer le corps physique et sonore. Dan Kinzelman exécute une suite de musique improvisée mêlant sa voix aux synthétiseurs et aux effets de boucle. Dans la chorégraphie, Daniele Ninarello explore non seulement son domaine familier de composition instantanée, mais produit aussi un dialogue constant avec le paysage sonore et les informations qu'il en reçoit. « The WOMANhouse » décortique les stéreotypes de genre et leur expression au quotidien. Que signifie être un homme? Est-ce la même chose qu'être masculin? Notre corps définit-il notre genre? Où commence le masculin et où la féminité prend-elle fin? Les fines lignes autour de ces questions, entre la masculinité construit et leurs propres corps, sont explorées. Ensemble, le quartet raille, combat, éclate en frénésie et s'engage dans un voyage bizarre. « Elvedon », chorégraphié par Christos Papadopoulos, s'inspire du roman Les Vagues de Virginia Woolf, narrant la vie de six amis. Six personnalités et perceptions de la réalité, entrelacées dans un monde « everflowing », comme les vagues de l'océan. L'élément central est l'écoulement du temps, une force en évolution, aboutissant à un monde où les forces antagonistes comme la vie et la mort, l'amour et l'amitié, personnelle et commune, entrent en collision. Le concept de flux éternel est au coeur d'Elvedon, représenté par la répétition, les bonds, et le développement progressif du mouvement corporel.
