TED is a non-profit, bringing together the world's leading thinkers and doers to share ideas that matter in any discipline - technology, entertainment, design, science, humanities, business, development. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created TEDx, a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Such events are not organized by TED Conferences, but are operated under a license from TED, held by Dirk Daenen, a very keen TED supporter who has hosted several TEDx events already. His latest TEDx event is TEDx Luxembourg City to be held on April 28th, 2018. The TEDx concept is very simple´, explains Dirk Daenen. ´We ask someone to go onstage and they have 18 minutes to say what they want to say, The idea of such a short talk is so that they have one very clear message.´ We at neimënster are excited to be the hosting venue of this iconic TEDxLuxembourgCity event . The theme 'Uncaging Possibilities' reflects the Abbey of Neumünster's tumultuous past while simultaniously promoting the TED spirit of ideas worth spreading and changing the world bit by bit in a mutual effort. Prepare to be inspired: TEDxLuxembourgCity welcomes a panel of 10 extraordinary speakers, who will hold short powerful talks from 12.00 h to 18.00 h. A lunch as well as a coffee-break are included in the ticket price. Tickets will go on sale shortly, the date will be anounced in the press and on social media (Please note that due to the high demand ticket purchase will be limited to four tickets per person). How to get to the Abbey: At the St.-Esprit Plateau in the city center of Luxembourg a public lift gives access to the Grund quarter which is the most convenient way to go to the Neumünster Abbey by both foot and car (parking lot St. Esprit, ca 250 m by foot). Via public transport the Abbey is accessible by bus lines 14, 20 and 23. At bus stop Stadgronn-Bréck, ca 200 m by foot from the Abbey, bus 23 takes you either to Luxembourg central station and Gasperich or direction Dommeldange and Beggen every 20 minutes. Bus stop Rumm on the Rue de la Tour Jacob, ca 150 m by foot, is served by buslines 14 (Central station-Cents) and 20 (Hamm - Clausen - Kirchberg). Recently a pedestrian bridge connects the parking garage Brasserie in Clausen with the Abbey for an even easier access to the event's venue. |
