The BGT English Language Theatre Company was founded in 1991 in Berlin and has been playing regularly in Luxembourg for nearly 10 years. Following its recent successes with JANE EYRE and BLITHE SPIRIT, the company is pleased to be returning to the Luxembourg stage with a new adaptation of the American classic LITTLE WOMEN. Written in 1868 by Louisa M Alcott, this classic story of four sisters growing up in the 19th century was an immediate hit and has remained a firm favourite with children and adults alike.

Beginning during the worst years of the American civil war, we are told the story of the March sisters - the lady-like Meg, the shy, kindly Beth and the precocious Amy - through the eyes of their fiercely independent sister Jo. From the pangs of poverty caused by a war-time childhood we follow the girls through the years to the joys and sorrows, loves and losses of adulthood. One by one we see these markedly different personalities make their own way in the world, but remain rooted together by a bond of sisterly love.

Performed in English by a company of Luxembourg-based actors of all ages, this new fast-flowing adaptation captures the energy, laughter and tears of this much-loved series of novels.
